June 9th, 2010

GEOFF FROM STREET MACHINE CONTACTED US ABOUT A BIKE THAT HE HAD & WAS THINKING OF FINISHING IT OFF TO RAFFLE OFF AT THE SUMMERNATS. IT SAT IN A GARAGE FOR A WHILE & COME TO US OR READY PAINTED WITH A NICE OLD SCHOOL PAINT JOB & RIMS THAT HAD BEEN PAINTED IN THE SAME COLOR RED AS THE BIKE .

Dyna_steet_bob_magazine_bike_003_thumb

WE STARTED WITH A FULL SERVICE & STARTED TO WORK OUT WHAT WE COULD DO TO SET THIS APART FROM THE NORM. 1ST WE THOUGHT OUR CUSTOM MADE CAM COVER WOULD SUIT THE OLD SCHOOL LOOK TO A TEE. WHICH ONCE WE SORTED THAT OUT WE WERE ABLE TO DO THE PIPES WHICH THE BIKE DID'NT HAVE WHEN IT CAME UP.

Dyna_steet_bob_magazine_bike_011_thumb

WE GOT HOLD OF A SUPER TRAP MUFFLER, BEING ABLE TO ADD OR TAKE DISC'S AWAY GIVES A LOT MORE OPTIONS WITH SOUND & PERFORMANCE . .THE HEADERS WERE MADE IN HOUSE

Dyna_steet_bob_magazine_bike_007_thumb

SCOTTY GOT CREATIVE WITH THE AIR CLEANER COVER TO KEEP THE LOOK & TO ALLOW MORE AIR FLOW.

Dyna_steet_bob_magazine_bike_018_thumb

THAN IT WAS JUST A MATTER OF THE FINISHING TOUCHES LIKE A SET OF OUR CUSTOM MADE SPRINGS

Dyna_steet_bob_magazine_bike_073_thumb

AND PLENTY OF CERAMIC COATING LIKE THE SHOCK COVERS,CAM COVER WITH POLISHED FIN'S PIPES & ETC

Dyna_steet_bob_magazine_bike_029_thumb

SCOTTY'S GETTING REAL INVENTIVE WITH THE CAMERA.

Dyna_steet_bob_magazine_bike_034_thumb

OVER ALL NOT A BIG JOB BUT IT JUST GO'S TO SHOW SMART CHOICES CAN REALLY SET A BIKE APART FROM THE NEXT

Dyna_steet_bob_magazine_bike_060_thumb

Waynes trick fatboy
May 27th, 2010

Wayne has been a customer of ours for a while now he also owned the nice Sportster we listed a while back. A little while ago he got hold of a Black Ice coloured Fat Boy & bought it in completely stock & asked what can you do to get this looking trick.Stock_2010_fatboy_wayne_mac_001_thumb

The changes are Huge between Custom & Stock

Waynes_fatboy_060_thumb

1st thing we did was the wheels Harley have great rim called the Stinger we got a set of these along with matching discs & pulley in a 18"

Waynes_fatboy_007_thumb

Next we fitted a set of Mini Apes with a Freight Train Narcell with Chrome Switch Blocks with Braided lines Smoked Blinker Lenses a nice set of Arlen Ness mirriors & Zodiac Grips which just suits it to the ground & keeps the front end nice & solid.

Finished_for_xmas_09___wayne_maginuess_127_thumb

We than fitted one of the nicest Dash Panels Harley has along with a Trick Brushed Aluminum Speedo Taco Combo with Flush Mount Gas Caps all in Chrome.

Finished_for_xmas_09___wayne_maginuess_089_thumb

To get the best sound we fitted a set of Vance & Hinze Big Radius Pipes in Chrome with a Daytona Twin Tec & a Genuine HD Heavy Breather which Scotty maped Perfectly the thing sounds & runs great .

Finished_for_xmas_09___wayne_maginuess_052_thumb

Along with a LED Rear taillight & lay down Number plate this 2010 FatBoy that really turns heads.

The Smoked Taillight & Blinkers really tighten the the tail up.

Scott"s location for the photo shoot suits this bike well

Twin Cam 88 models have a tensioner shoe that wears out , there are 2, 1 is on the primary drive seen here the other is behind this which drives the rear and front cams. If you suspect a noise then this one possibility. This one is so bad there is no shoe left and its steel on steel which is not really good.

The old fuel filter blocked trickey. That will stuff you out the back of woop woop when the bike refuses to go any faster than 60 kph. Unfortunately one of returned solders copped this one. Some little man failed to change it when he was meant to and it slowly clogged up full of crap 14 thou later. Every 40km we change them here in Aus. because they need it , period.

Bubs_customs_166_thumbBubs_customs_165_thumb

This little beast didn't just crack the gearbox mount plate but sheared it in 2 places. I guess you might as well go out with a bang!

Bubs_customs_095_thumbBubs_customs_085_thumb

Why would you want to make a carby bike a fuel injected bike? Well if you are Scotty then that's only the surface, scratch a little deeper. What bike is it you say, uhm its like this JD and Scotty made a frame used 1948 castings and put a Twin cam in it.

So what, I've seen it done before, not this time. Bub's makes its own pan head look rocker boxes out of solid aircraft alloy billet to match its finned pan head cam cover for TC as well and you would be nuts to say oh yeah seen it before, they are unique and so a 1948 hand shift 106 worked Twin Pan was born for 1 year.

Then Scotty says I'll EFI it with no digital speedo and no indicators and no wire harness. It's cool I'll just teach myself and see what happens. First thing is it's got to look the same as before = sporty pump from the bottom, see.The tanks are repo 3.5 gallon shovel tanks.

These bikes are in house made, modified. The black one is a 2009 HD cross bones aka bad bones .The other one is a fully hand made e e one off which was built in 06 to replicate a 48 . There is a couple of dead give aways, one is the disc brakes front and rear. The other i s the engine , its a twin cam. Not just a twin cam but a 106 cu in fuel injected worked by Scotty in house like every thing else but the paint.
